Tuskers managed an easy 10-wicket victory in last week’s match against the Southern Rocks, having displayed good batting and bowling skills to assert their dominance in the 2012-2013 season of the cup.

Tuskers set the pace of the game in the first innings as they bowled out the Southern Rocks for 152 runs with Christopher Mpofu taking 6/21 in 15,5 overs.

Tuskers went on to bat a total of 380 with Reginald Glen Querl’s 188 not out the best in the first innings.

Rocks sought to improve their batting in the second innings, but were limited to 292 after Querl claimed four wickets from the 18 overs.

The only form of resistance by the visitors came from their batsmen Prince Masvaure and Richmond Mutumbami, who got 72 and 75 runs respectively in the second innings. With only 64 runs to chase, Tuskers wrapped up the match through their opening batsmen Terry Duffin and Brian Chari, who got 67 runs in just under 15 overs to win the match by 10 wickets.

This saw Tuskers record their second consecutive victory in the country’s premier class competition.

MidWest Rhinos thumped Eagles with an emphatic 323 run victory at Harare Sports Club on Friday. Rhinos are still second place on the log standings.
