The dancehall queen who — rose to fame with hit songs such as Dancehall Doctor, featuring Freeman — has over the years managed to master the art of performance as she went head-to-head with celebrated dancehall masters.

In an interview with NewsDay, Squanda said she would audition for the next edition of the reality show and was hopeful she would make it in the house if selected.

“I believe Zimbabwe is full of intelligent youths and it pains me to see most representatives from the country failing to grab that cash. That is why I thought of giving it a shot,” she said. “I have always had this dream of going to the show. However, when I do, it will not be solely for the money, but to market my music internationally and make a name for myself.”

“If I get the chance I will make sure Zimbabwe is well-represented through originality and uniqueness, just as I have shown in my music. Originality is what matters. Most of our previous representatives failed to show their true colours in the house. They have portrayed fake characters when the secret is to be real.”

If the dancehall queen realises her dream, she will become the second musician to grace the show after Rockford “Roki” Josphats who represented the country this year.
