The man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, was not asked to plead to aggravated indecent assault charges when he appeared before Gokwe resident magistrate, Shepard Mjanja on Thursday.

He was granted $50 bail and remanded to November 22 for trial.

The court heard that in December last year, the man and the complainant were herding cattle in the bush when he suddenly grabbed the boy, tripped him to the ground before sodomising him once.

During the same month the man also sodomised the boy while they were in the fields, again after tripping him to the ground.

Sometime in January this year, the man followed the boy while he was going to the shops and yet again tripped him to the ground before sodomising him once.

Sometime in August this year, the two were herding cattle in the bush when the man grabbed the boy and sodomised him again.

The matter came to light in September this year when the boy’s mother complained that the boy was now lazy.

The victim then revealed that to his mother that the man had been sodomising him.

His mother accompanied him to the police to make a report that led to the arrest of the brother.
