According to a statement issued by the consultancy firm, the main thrust of the conference is to seek ways of fighting cyber crime at a time when technology is developing at a break-neck pace.

The conference will fall under the theme White collar crime: Combating Fraud or White Collar Crime with “Enterprise Cyber Forensics – The way to go?

Speakers expected to make presentations include officials representing the police, experts on fighting fraud, the Attorney -General’s Office and the Insurance and Pension Commission.

More than 150 anti-fraud professionals, according to a statement issued by Masc, are expected to attend the convention in a bid to fight fraud which has taken root both in public and private sector enterprises.

The conference will focus on mitigating the risk of fraud with computer (cyber) forensics.

“Fraud is a universal challenge and it continues to be a major area of concern in both the public and private sectors.

“Fraud-fighting professionals need the most up-to date solutions that can be quickly understood and implemented, hence the need for computer forensics,” said the firm in a statement.

Masc is a member of the newly formed Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners is an international professional organisation with a mission to reduce the incidence of fraud and white-collar crime and to assist its members in fraud detection and deterrence.

It provides bona fide qualifications for certified fraud examiners through administration of the CFE Examination and the ACFE Learnership.
