Spokesperson of the venue Tawanda Mudzonga said the launch of the new garden would be an important milestone for the Book Café.

He said the garden was an important part of their plan to expand their services to the public, since the popular venue relocated to Samora Machel Avenue in March 2012.

“Sulu is a popular performer at the Book Café and that is why we have invited him to perform on the first day of the launch of the Gochi-Gochi Garden,” said Mudzonga.

He said revellers could also expect a special treat as Maraire would have a “one-of-a-kind collaboration” with Brown.

“Recently she (Maraire) has been collaborating with a number of different artists and it is only natural now that she will collaborate with rising star and phenomenal performer, Brown who has been steadily building a name for herself as an outstanding talent with a bright future on the music scene,” he said.

Mudzonga said the two shared a strong bond and their live collaboration promised to be a heartfelt, symbiotic and mind-blowing experience.

“This new outdoor garden will kick Book Café into a higher gear and will feature good Zimbabwean meat straight from the braai and a whole new menu for patrons to enjoy.

“This comfortable new area under the mango trees is part of the new Book Cafe and patrons are invited to come and enjoy delicious food and fantastic music.”
