Danny Phiri put Chicken Inn ahead in the third minute before getting the second in the 22rd minute while Caps United got their goals from substitute Pride Tafirenyika in the 74th minute and Leonard Fiyado in injury time.

Despite the draw, Chicken Inn remained third on the log table with 50 points from 29 games after Monomotapa lost 2-1 to Harare City at Gwanzura Studium.

Chicken Inn coach Adam Ndlovu said he was a disappointed man.

“The referee disallowed our goal. Well, the referee’s decision is final. The boys went to sleep and we conceded two goals. We have to work hard because the boys have an attitude and they underestimate teams, but a match is only won after 90 minutes,” he said.

Caps assistant coach Brenna Msiska was happy with collecting a point.

“It is a good result for us. We had to bring in other players so that we could see which players we will be keeping for next season. Things were not well after the Dynamos match, but we told the boys that they should play their normal game,” said Msiska.
