The survey is one of several magazines published every year by Alpha Media Holdings, publishers of NewsDay, the Zimbabwe Independent and The Standard. It is designed to meet a clear need on the market for a more comprehensive assessment of financial institutions in Zimbabwe.

In conducting the evaluation of the banking institutions, the survey considers, among others, the quality of the balance sheet, management profile, the competitive profile of banks, long-term business philosophy, the ability to sustain operations going forward and the environment in which the financial institutions surveyed operated.

Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) senior official David Monyae is expected to give a keynote address.

Prior to joining DBSA, Monyae lectured International political economy and Africa’s International Relations in the Department of International Relations at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in Johannesburg, South Africa.

FBC Holdings chief executive officer John Mushayavanhu, among other high profile bankers, is also expected to attend.
