Manicaland police spokesperson Inspector Enock Chishiri identified the minor as Marlon Chipare.

Police said the minor died instantly after he touched an electrified screen door at a bottle store where his mother worked. “Marlon died on the spot after he was electrocuted by the screen door at his mother’s workplace.

“His body was ferried to Mutare Provincial Hospital mortuary shortly after the incident,” Chishiri said.

Elsewhere in Nyazura on the same day, 25-year-old Witness Matanhire died after being hit by a bucket he was using to remove mud from a deep well he was sinking with a fellow villager, Tatenda Mutungwazi, at Mutungwazi village.

Chishiri said as they were sinking a deep well, Matanhire was loading mud into the bucket while Mutungwazi would empty it from outside.

However, the rope they were using to hold the bucket broke and the loaded bucket hit Matanhire on the head, killing him on the spot. His body was later retrieved and ferried to Rusape Hospital.
