The power utility team dislodged How Mine from the top spot after the gold miners suffered a setback in their campaign when they were stunned 1-0 by 15th-placed Sizani Fruit&Veg at Portuguese on Saturday.

How Mine dropped to third spot as Bantu Rovers also recorded a win after going for a three-match drought beating Black Boots 2-1 at Luveve Stadium on Saturday.

ZPC Hwange, who last week beat neighbours Power Cosmos 2-0, are now on 57 points from 29 points with three games remaining to the end of the season, while Bantu Rovers are in contention for a return to Premiership action with 56 points and a game in hand.

How Mine have also played 28 games but remained on 55 points after the loss to Sizani Fruit&Veg, but the race for the championship still remains wide open with Black Boots on position four also chasing the title with 52 points from 28 games.

Railstars moved a point closer to Black Boots at the weekend as they thumped Division Two-bound Emakhandeni Pirates 4-0 at Raylton Sports Club and have 51 points from the same number of games.

New West City collected maximum points without kicking a ball after Power Cosmos failed to turn up for their match at White City Stadium on Saturday, moving the Lobengula suburb team to 49 points from 28 games. Bulawayo Chiefs beat Tsholotsho FC 1-0 in Plumtree while Hwange Juniors dispatched Ntabazinduna Prison 2-0 in Hwange.

Mpumalanga had a harvest of goals on Saturday as the pummelled relegated neighbours Projects 6-1 in Hwange.
