ZAKA West MP Festus Dumbu (MDC-T) claims his vehicle had its tyres deflated by suspected Zanu PF supporters at Warren Hills Cemetery in Harare

ZAKA West MP Festus Dumbu (MDC-T) claims his vehicle had its tyres deflated by suspected Zanu PF supporters at Warren Hills Cemetery in Harare where he was at a burial on Monday.

Report by Staff Reporter

Dumbu said he was attending the burial of a Triangle United soccer player, Marizani Jacha Muchena. Dumbu is employed by Triangle Sugar Estates.

“I parked my car at the Warren Hills parking bay and Zanu PF supporters who happened to be burying one of their members saw me,” said Dumbu. “They managed to identify my vehicle by its registration numbers and they deflated all its four tyres,” he said.

Dumbu said as a result, he was left stranded at the cemetery as police refused to assist him or arrest the suspects.

He said he later reported the matter at Warren Park Police Station and it was recorded under case number 1550101.

Contacted for comment, Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Tadius Chibanda referred all questions to national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba, saying he was unaware of the incident as he was attending a workshop.

Charamba said: “At the moment I do not have that kind of information and I will check on that.”
