Tapfumaneyi Marufu of Nyamahape village in Mhangura was convicted of all three counts and handed the sentence when he appeared before magistrate Fanny Nyakudya recently.

Prosecutor Vote Zishiri told the court that between September 14 and 19 this year, Marufu stole two oxen and a bull belonging to complainants Justin Murima, Eliah Kondowe and Tavengwa Topi.

In passing sentence, the magistrate said there was need to enforce the mandatory custodial nine-year jail term for each count as cattle rustling had become a national scourge.
