How Mine, on 55 points from 27 games, beat contenders Bantu Rovers 1-0 at the gold mine last week to reclaim the top spot and condemned “Tshintsha Guluva” to the third spot with 53 points, as ZPC Hwange, also in the race, took the second position after beating neighbours Power Cosmos 2-0 in the coal mining town. ZPC have picked up 54 points from 28 games and trail How Mine by a point.

They host former Premiership side Zimbabwe Saints in Hwange tomorrow, while Bantu Rovers have a tough encounter with police side Black Boots at Luveve Stadium. Black Boots are a point behind Bantu Rovers on position four. Any slip-up by ZPC and Bantu Rovers tomorrow and a win for How Mine, will ensure a fine home stretch for the gold miners who are seeking a debut Premiership appearance next season.
