His co-option is awaiting approval from the PSL Board of Governors chairman Twine Phiri.

A reliable source yesterday told NewsDay Sport that Zhou was co-opted by the executive and that could only be challenged during elections at the next annual general management.

“Tadson Zhou was co-opted as PSL Board member (finance) during the PSL Board of Governors meeting in Harare. He was co-opted by the executive because there were no elections held. If there is a challenge, elections will be conducted during the next annual general meeting,” he said.

Contacted for comment, Phiri said he was not in a position to comment as he was still to advise the clubs.

“Where did you get that? I am still communicating with the clubs and then you can call me tomorrow (today),” Phiri said.

This is the second co-option in the league after Hwange chairman Joseph Zulu took over from former Highlanders chairman Themba Ndlela, who had resigned.
