The campaign, dubbed Let’s Go Zero that was launched on Monday, is aimed at achieving zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination and zero Aids- related deaths.

Mimosa managing director Winston Chitando said the safety of the miners, the environment and the entire community’s life was at the heart of the company hence the need to go zero.

Mimosa will work with the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe, National Aids Council and the Environment Management Authority to execute the campaign.

Speaking at the event, Mines minister Obert Mpofu applauded Mimosa for its work.

“It is gratifying that having recently launched the community share ownership scheme, embraced the empowerment programme and done sterling work in the Zvishavane area and indeed the country as a whole, Mimosa has seen it fit to focus on preserving the life, health and welfare of its employees and the broader Zimbabwean community,” said Mpofu.
