Shabanie Mine coach Luke Masomere believes Dynamos have what it takes to retain their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title

Shabanie Mine coach Luke Masomere believes Dynamos have what it takes to retain their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title, but says rivals Highlanders will push them all the way.

Report by Henry Mhara Sports Reporter The former Masvingo United gaffer stated his own club’s ambition was to finish among the best four teams in the league.

Masomere’s comments came after he watched his side being overrun 4-1 by Dynamos at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday, a result which saw the Harare giants rising two points clear at the top of the log.

Dynamos are on 55 points while second-placed Highlanders paid heavily for their 3-0 loss to Monomotapa on Saturday, their first in 24 matches, as they dropped to second position on the log table.

Shabanie Mine are on fifth position with 39 points, the same number of points with fourth-placed Chicken Inn, who enjoy a better goal difference.

“Highlanders are playing good football and Dynamos are also playing good football, but I will always tip Dynamos to win the league in circumstances like these.

“The race is still tight, but my own opinion is that Dynamos will retain the championship, but Shabanie Mine will also be in the top four,” declared Masomere.

Jittery former Caps United and Sundowns striker Simba Sithole opened his account for Dynamos soon after the halftime break to put the hosts into the comfort zone.

“It’s good for him (Sithole) and for his confidence. We have always believed in him and we are just hoping this goal is the start of good things to come,” said Dynamos assistant coach Tonderai Ndiraya.
