Hwange hits another turbulence

-

AFTER technical manager Tennant Chilumba quit last week and a 2-0 home defeat to Dynamos, struggling Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Hwange has dropped assistant coach Mebelo Njekwa to the juniors.

He has been replaced by former player and Hwange Under 20 coach Brian Njobvu with immediate effect.

Njekwa is now the head coach of the U-20 side. Club secretary Burzil Dube confirmed the changes, but dismissed allegations that Njekwa had been fired.

“I can confirm Njekwa has been redeployed to the juniors, the U20s with immediate effect and the U20 head coach Brian Njobvu has been shifted to the senior team”, said Dube.

“These coaches are mine workers. They have the same grade and we are trying to save the team from relegation. Njekwa was not fired, we are trying new ideas so we decided to redeploy him and replace him with Njobvu. People must understand its part of football.”

Hwange are left with five games and are in 12th position on the log.

Chipangano have recently suffered six consecutive defeats.
