People have uttered wrong and irresponsible words, made uninformed decisions and taken foolish actions that they have lived to regret and probably affected many generations down the line.

Haven’t you ever sent a text message, an email or worse still, telephoned someone out of anger and frustration only to retract moments later?
Out of your busy schedule, it is important to find time to sit down alone and reflect and strategise. You need to enquire from yourself and get to the depths of your being.
God speaks to you just as the devil also speaks to you but it is up to you to choose the counsel you prefer. I have had the privilege of being pastored and mentored by some of the greatest minds on earth and have set under the tutelage of people of immense wisdom.
Apart from a prayer room, study room; one man of God told me that he also has a thinking room. Sometimes the church has done well in dealing with the spirit, soul and body but has fallen short on instructing the mind.
After hearing from God, Satan and other people, you also need to hear from you. Nehemiah was faced with a massive project of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. God spoke to him in as much as Satan and fellow countrymen also had their input.
Nehemiah 5:7 says: “Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them.”

In this presentation I want to closely look at the first part of that verse which speaks of Nehemiah consulting himself. Consulting yourself is different from soul searching. Soul searching is remedial.
Let us say you want to embark on a project and after prayer the Lord told you to go ahead because you will succeed. Satan by nature will come and tell you that you are not good enough.
Some of your friends agree with you while others think you are out of your mind. This is the time you need to go into that thinking room.
Many times people really think when they are regretting and crying maybe over a lost tender or contract.
Sometimes you don’t think before you get into that relationship but only get time to sit down and reflect after the guy or lady leaves you.
Before you do anything, check with yourself whether you agree with God or the devil.
God gave us brains to use. Make sure you engage your mind to advance in life. God has a plan for you and the devil also has a plan for you. What plan do you have for yourself? When you get into that thinking room, you get new ideas, concepts and solutions.
When you engage the mind after prayer, you will be able to process what the Lord poured in your spirit.
Scripture begins to apply such as Romans 12:2 which reads: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Please note that it does not say renewal but renewing which is a continuous process for you to attain the perfect will of God.
God is on your side; better side with Him. You may not have mane people to cheer you up but don’t join your opponents in opposing you. I have seen teams that have failed to use home advantage and beaten by the visiting team.
You can win without many supporters. Use David’s trick in 1 Samuel 30:6 which reads: “And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.” Like David, encourage yourself and be your number one supporter.
In closing, probably you have consulted the false prophet; witch doctor and every satanic agent, I now urge you to make time to consult yourself.
It is wisdom to make it a lifestyle that everyday you start with prayer and worship God. After that get to a private closet and think and map the way forward.
Repeat the same process as you finish the day no matter how tired you may feel.
Accept the mistakes that you made that day and position yourself to do the right thing tomorrow.
There is no much time under the sun to keep on making mistakes. Consult yourself and take the right course of action; you are going somewhere.
