THE trial of the 29 Glen View MDC-T activists, accused of murdering a policeman last year, was yesterday postponed to October 29 after the prosecutor Edmore Nyazamba failed to turn up reportedly due to ill health.

Public Mpofu, from the Attorney-General’s office, told Justice Chinembiri Bhunu that Nyazamba had been given time off-duty by a medical doctor.
“Mr Nyazamba is not feeling too well and was given five days’ bed rest. I am reliably informed he visited a doctor who prescribed that he takes five days off,” Mpofu said.
Although the defence team, led by Beatrice Mtetwa, was agreeable to the postponement, it indicated that in the event the prosecutor did not recover quickly, an option had to be found.
