The airmen dislodged Strikers FC from second position and now have 45 points, three clear of the Beitbridge side who were on a bye this weekend.

Tripple B were held to a goalless draw by resurgent FC Platinum U-19 and had their lead at the summit of the log reduced to 11 points. Friday Phiri, the Tripple B coach, however, felt the draw would not affect his team’s charge towards promotion into top-flight football next season. He, however, conceded that the game against FC Platinum was one of the toughest encounters and was glad to have picked a point from Mandava.

“It was a tough game and I am glad we managed to come out with a point. The young guys put up quite a fight and made it difficult for us to settle down. I don’t think the draw will affect us in any way. Our title campaign is on course and this time I don’t think anything will happen to stop us,” he said.
