Bantu Rovers have opened a three-point lead with 52 points from 24 games and look forward to using home advantage against Mpumalanga at Luveve Stadium on Sunday.

Veteran coach Reuben Tsengwa yesterday said the game against Mpumalanga is a must win.

“We must win, so that we remain at the top. All the boys are ready for selection,” Tsengwa said.

Tsengwa added they still awaited the green light from team doctors to field former Highlanders skipper Gilbert Banda, who has been suffering from a nagging groin injury.

However, Banda, who crossed the floor to join FC Platinum at the beginning of the year only to be dropped mid-season, last week sat on the bench when “Tshintsha Guluva” held title-chasing ZPC Hwange to a 1-1 draw in the coal mining town.

ZPC are on position three with 48 points from 25 games and travel to Ntabazinduna for a date with Ntabazinduna Prison on Tuesday.

How Mine dropped crucial points last week when they lost 2-1 to New West City and are away to Power Cosmos in Hwange on Tuesday.

An exciting encounter is on the cards at Queens Park East as struggling former Premiership side Zimbabwe Saints entertain determined New West City at Zim Saints Club tomorrow.

“Chikwata” are reeling in the relegation zone on position 13 in the 17-team league with 29 points from 25 games, while New West, on position four, seek to close the gap on ZPC with 45 points from 25 games.

In other matches lined up for tomorrow, strugglers Rufaro Rovers and Emakhandeni Pirates lock horns in a relegation fight in Hwange while Railstars also travel to the coal mining town for a date with Projects. Police side Black Boots are home to Hwange Juniors in Fairbridge.
