WARRIORS captain Tapuwa Kapini has hinted on retiring from international football.

The AmaZulu goalkeeper, who is also the captain of the South African club, made the disclosure on social network Facebook.
“I think it’s high time I left it for others to start their journey in the national team now,” posted Kapini on his account at around 10am yesterday.
It could not be immediately ascertained why Kapini is contemplating quitting the Warriors as he was not answering his mobile phone yesterday but a source said the decision could be a protest against Zifa over the Asiagate life ban on some of his fellow players.
“Kapini has made it clear that he is against the Asiagate bans. He is fed up with Zifa and does not want to be associated with them anymore,” said the source.
Zifa has banned 15 players and officials from the game for their alleged involvement in match-fixing in Asia.
Kapini last week openly criticised Zifa for imposing the bans, describing the punishment as “unfair and harsh”.

“I am prepared to put my head on the block against the decision to ban players from the game for life.
“Even two years, I think is harsh and unfair. As captain of the Warriors, friend and teammate, I feel pity for them because their lives depend on football,” Kapini said.
“What Zifa should have done was to ban them from playing for the national team, not to ban them for life. It’s hard and I feel for them.
“They stood behind me when I got injured and I also stand by them on this issue. Most of them are under 32 years of age and what are they going to do?
“Do they want them to start selling recharge cards or go to Mbare and sell tomatoes? We can talk about building a new team around junior teams, but this will not develop our football,” Kapini told NewsDay Sport last week.
Kapini, who aggravated an ankle injury during the Warriors Afcon match against Angola in Harare last month, also told his followers on the social network that he will be back in action at the end of next month.
The 28-year-old made his debut for the Warriors in 2001 and has 35 caps, according to a website nationalfootbalteams.com.
