In a letter to Zuma this week, ZDP president Kisinoti Mukwazhe said Zuma needed to ensure reforms were implemented with speed for elections to be held, as the country’s political and economic situation remained unstable due to constant bickering.

Mukwazhe accused President Robert Mugabe, Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara of failing to deal with the country’s problems seriously.

“The three principals are not taking seriously the problems our country is facing. They are comfortably enjoying the current political set up, forgetting the urgency needed to solve and stabilise our country socially, politically and economically,” Mukwazhe said.

“ZDP is worried about Zimbabwe’s future. As citizens, our primary attitude and basic attitude as sons to our motherland Zimbabwe is to act in defence of our peace, our people, sovereignty and national wealth in order to maintain our social, political and economic stability.”
