Chunga’s Platinum test

Moses “Bambo” Chunga will be hoping Gunners collect their first full set of points under his guidance when they host Zvishavane side FC Platinum in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at Lafarge Stadium today.

Report by the Sports Correspondent Chunga is still to register a win in the league since returning to the Gunners bench, taking over the hot seat from Thanks Tengwe.

His first match in charge was against Dynamos, but Gunners were handed a 4-0 thrashing — one of their heaviest defeats this season. And subsequent matches have still not brought smiles to the coach who lifted his first league title with the club in 2009 just two years after they won promotion into the top-flight league. He, however, appears to be slowly turning around the team that is battling to survive the dreaded chop at the end of the campaign.

Bambo has so far registered a crucial 3-2 victory over fancied Chicken Inn in the Mbada Diamonds Cup.
