Two Warren Park lovers will rue the day they decided to have a picnic at Warren Hills in Harare after they were allegedly forced to have sex in the open by an assailant who demanded to watch them in action.
Tengure Biri (25), of Warren Park 1, appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday where he was charged for allegedly demanding that the two lovers, whose identities were withheld, make love in his presence.
Biri pleaded not guilty to criminal insult and assault charges before provincial magistrate Kudakwashe Jarabini. It is alleged Biri also subjected the two to physical assaults after they initially refused to comply with his orders.
The court also heard that Biri subjected the man to more assaults accusing him of failing to sustain an erection in order to perform accordingly.
Prosecutor Yvonne Gurira Mushunje told the court that the incident occurred sometime in March this year at around 3pm when the complainant, a woman, was with her boyfriend at Warren Hills picnicking.
The State said Biri arrived where the two were and ordered them to immediately have sex while he watched.
The court heard that initially the woman refused, prompting the angered Biri to bash both of them with a stick.
Eventually, the court heard, the woman succumbed to pressure and she removed her clothes together with her boyfriend, but failed to engage in the act as the man could not sustain an erection.

The court heard that Biri continued to assault the two accusing them of failing to comply, but they were later rescued from their ordeal by a passer-by, leading to Biri’s arrest.
However, in his defence Biri denied forcing the two to indulge in sex, but instead said he caught the couple “pants down” being intimate at “his church shrine”. The trial continues on August 24.
