MUNICH — Robin van Persie (RVP) has joined Arsenal’s pre-season training tour to Germany, with no end in sight to his transfer situation.

The Gunners skipper cut the London club deep by revealing that he does not intend to renew his contract when it expires in one season’s time. Juventus and both Manchester clubs are believed to covet the prolific Dutch international striker, but none of them have made a bid sufficient to prompt the Gunners to sell.

Arsenal continue to maintain that they would rather allow RVP to leave as a free agent next season than sell him too cheaply.

Hence, it appears as if a waiting game has ensued. Perhaps Arsenal believe that their new signings and a good coming season will help convince RVP to stay. And perhaps his suitors are willing to wait and see if his quality remains, in order to take him for free in a year.

Or it could still be that an offer entices Arsenal to sell RVP before the transfer window slams shut in three weeks’ time.

But for now, RVP is in Germany with Arsenal, who will play their new striker Lukas Podolski’s old club Cologne in a pre-season friendly on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti claims that the Nerazzurri were blown out of the water by PSG in their fishing trip for Lucas Moura. Inter were trying to lure Brazil international Moura to the San Siro, as are Manchester United — who have dangled €30 million bait in front of the Brazil international’s club, Sao Paulo.
