After seven seasons of hosting Big Brother Africa without a single win, South Africa, through housemate Keagan (22), eventually won this year’s $300 000 prize on Sunday night following gruesome 91 days in the house.

The South African charmer clowned his way to the top after winning many hearts across Africa, who ultimately delivered seven country votes towards his victory.

The young lad finally hit the jackpot for South Africa, albeit after hosting the BBA for seven seasons. Keagan who started his journey in BBA Stargame Downville as an ordinary young man, ended it in Upville after he was upgraded during the eviction show that saw his partner Lee being eliminated.

The game which started with 34 other housemates all with their eyes on the coveted prize, became tough for the rest, whom despite their efforts to entertain Africa, were finally outwitted by Keagan. This was proved by the way he handled the “head of house” tasks when he broke the BBA record by winning six times.

Despite the fact that Keagan did not at first believe in the head of house powers, it proved worthwhile when he managed to save himself from possible evictions after being nominated twice by his housemates.

It was a long arduous journey for the last six housemates, who could not wait for the final day, although Keagan proved to have come into the house with “lady luck” on his side, which must have enabled him to win the grand prize. On the other hand, Prezzo the Kenyan rapper, was crowned the first runner-up and was rewarded with the one-campaign ambassador slot.

He was also given an opportunity to watch Jay Z in concert in the United States — all expenses paid. The other final six contestants did not walk away empty handed as they received smart phones, HDPV Decoders and Big Boy Scotters.
