Dynamos chief striker Rodreck Mutuma will be available for selection as the champions make the trip to Mandava for the re-arranged Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) match against FC Platinum on Saturday.

It had been thought Mutuma would not be eligible for this weekend’s game against the Zvishavane-based side after picking three yellow cards in the previous matches against Buffaloes, Gunners and Highlanders. Harare Derby hero midfielder Tawanda Muparati had also been rumoured to be ineligible, owing to suspension for picking three yellow cards.

PSL chief executive Kenny Ndebele, however allayed those fears. He clarified that the suspensions would apply to Matchday 16 only, meaning the suspensions do not affect Dynamos and FC Platinum as they are playing Matchday 15 re-arranged match this Saturday.

“Because the FC Platinum/ Dynamos match is a Matchday 15 fixture, the two teams’ suspensions (if there are any) will ONLY be effected on their Matchday 16 fixture,” he said.

This development comes as a relief to coach Kalisto Pasuwa as he will have his best players available for the crucial game.

Muparati, scorer of the only goal that decided the 69th edition of the Harare derby, had picked up his form after struggling in recent matches.

But Pasuwa remains unsure whether midfielder Milton Makopa will be available after picking up an injury in the match against Caps United last Saturday. However, defender Guthrie Zhokinyu, who also suffered an injury in the game which led to his substitution with George Magariro replacing him, could make the trip as he has resumed light training.

Dynamos, who are six points adrift of log leaders Highlanders who have 33 points, will be looking to keep pace as the campaign passes the halfway stage.

Meanwhile, FC Platinum coach Tendai Chikuni, will also be looking for a victory against Dynamos who defeated them at home last season — a result that eventually helped Dynamos clinch the league title on goal difference after the two teams had ended with the same number of points.
