Young Warriors international and former Jomo Cosmos striker Matthew Rusike is having trials at South African Premiership side Ajax Cape Town. Ajax is home to Warriors winger Khama Billiat and Tafadzwa Rusike.

Mathew was not registered by Cosmos for the 2012-2013 National First Division season as club owner Jomo Sono had made it clear he was ready to cash in on one of last season’s star players.

The Jomo Cosmos striker has attracted interest from a number of clubs in the Premiership, including the likes of Kaizer Chiefs.

Urban Warriors public relations officer, Thabiso “Shooz” Mekuto, confirmed to the Siya crew that the Zimbabwean started training with the Cape-based side on Monday.

Hwange and Zambian international defender Aaron Katebe started training with newly promoted Chippa United last week Friday.

The 20-year-old player is looking for a new club after completing an impressive season with Hwange last term and has been impressive this year as well.

It was recently reported in the media that Katebe had chosen to attend trials in Europe ahead of a proposed trial at Mamelodi Sundowns. However, Katebe’s South Africa-based agent Ali Tlhoaele confirmed with the Siya crew that the player is in Cape Town.

“Aaron Katebe has arrived in the country and is already in camp with Chippa United. Katebe is the Zambian defender who can also play as a defensive midfielder. He is looking forward to enjoy the rest of his time with the club,” said Tlhoaele.

Katebe joins a few other players hoping to impress Chippa’s technical team for a chance to play for the club in the Premiership in the new season.
