Having been dumped out of continental competitions, Dynamos coach Kalisto Pasuwa will seek to bolster his squad with new players during this month’s transfer window, with Angolan winger “Ze Kalanga” set to become the next arrival.

Ze Kalanga, whose real name is Paulo Batista Nsimba, visited Pasuwa at the team hotel in Luanda before Dynamos’ Caf Confederation Cup 1-0 defeat to Interclube on Sunday to try and convince the coach to take him aboard.

While Pasuwa was excited at the prospect of signing the talented player, he was a bit concerned about the player’s fitness.

Ze Kalanga featured at the 2006 World Cup finals and the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations finals playing key roles for his country in both tournaments.

“I think he is a good player, one that we would want to have at Dynamos, but I am a bit concerned about why he returned from Europe so early,” said Pasuwa.

“I need to check if he does not have any injuries before we sign him. He is going to come to Harare sometime next week and we will have a look at him, but the player is eager to join us. He says he wants to play alongside Rodreck Mutuma.”

In addition to Ze Kalanga (28), Pasuwa said the club would need to invest in more strikers he can use as options to Takesure Chinyama and Mutuma.

“We will need more players. In fact, we need more strikers and if we are to get any better, we have to make use of this July transfer window and bring in more players.”

Shabanie Mine striker Nelson Mazivisa is one player out of reach and his club FC Platinum has stated they will not allow the player to join the champions.

Dynamos will have to concentrate on trying to retain the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League crown and have tough matches coming up against Platinum, Highlanders and Caps United before the close of the first half of the season.
