Dynamos plans to snare strikers Allen Gahadzikwa and Nelson Mazivisa from FC Platinum during the current transfer window have hit a brickwall with the Zvishavane side saying they will not release the two players.

The Premier Soccer League champions leave this morning for Angola where they take on InterClube in the second leg of the last 16 of the Caf Confederation Cup in Luanda on Sunday.

Mazivisa, the Premierships leading scorer with 12 goals from 14 matches, is on loan to FC Platinums neighbours Shabanie Mine and is likely to complete the season there, while Gahadzikwa was bought from Motor Action at the beginning of the year.

Reliable sources at the platinum miners said: We will not release the players to Dynamos. They have written to us, but the players will not move there.

Gahadzikwas first choice was Dynamos when his contract with the Bulls expired in December, but the champions failed to match the figures offered by Platinum.

Mazivisa will be part of the Warriors team that travels to Botswana tomorrow for a four-nation tournament that will be staged between Monday and Tuesday.

Dynamos have already lost Denver Mukamba to Bidvest Wits, who yesterday appointed former Mamelodi Sundowns boss Antonio Habas Lopez as head coach while Takesure Chinyama, who has scored seven times, is still working on a deal to join Orlando Pirates.

Platinum are now under Tendai Chikuni, who replaced Rahman Gumbo two weeks ago, and will be looking to beef up their squad as they continue their search for the league title in only their second year in the top-flight league.

Platinum have also paid Botswana champions Mochudi Centre Chiefs P400 000 for the services of Joel Mogorosi and paid the player a signing-on fee of P147 000 after he signed with them in March. But he could be on his way to Bloemfontein Celtic in South Africa for a reported figure of R3 million without kicking a ball in Zvishavane.

Writing on the FC Platinums official Facebook page yesterday, club spokesman Phil Muvengwa said their targets for the year remained unchanged.

We havent revised our target for this year. It remains the same. We are fighting for the league championship, said Muvengwa. This is football. Anything can happen. What we need is not to look at whats happening at the top but focus on our games and focus on winning the championship.

The fans should continue rallying behind the team. We are still very much focused despite our slow start to the season. We have only played 14 matches and the season is till raw. The results will definitely start coming our way.

The club lost the championship to Dynamos last season and although there seems to be rivalry between the two teams, it seems mostly to exist between the supporters and in the media. Such is the case with Shabanie Mine they exchanged four players at the start of the season.

Mazivisa and Ray Sibanda went to Luke Masomeres side while Rowen Nenzou and Simon Shoko joined Platinum.
