CAIRO — Egyptian Olympic and Haras Al Hedoud player Isam Ramdan has expressed both pride and joy after learning about the interest from English giant Arsenal.

Some in the English media had published on Tuesday that Arsenal and coach Wenger especially, was interested in the services of Ramdan after they watched him in the friendly tournament in France last May where Islam played for the Egyptian Olympic team.

SuperSport.com talked to the player who confirmed this and said: “I knew about this since last May when they talked to my agent, but I preferred to keep it secret.

“It is a honour and dream to play for Arsenal, but I have to wait after the Olympic Games.

“My agent told me that scouts from Olympique Lyonnais , Benfica and Sporting Lisbon are interested in me too, so now I hope to do well with the Egyptian Olympic team in England and we will build on that and see,” he further added.

Radan will be under contract with his team till 2014, so SuperSport.com talked to General Mohammed Mashour the team director who said: “This makes us all very proud and we wait for any of those clubs to contact us and we will sadly let him go.”
