Lionel Mutizwa has ended a frustrating spell at South African Premiership football club Mamelodi Sundowns by signing a season-long loan deal with newly-promoted University of Pretoria.

Mutizwa watched from the sidelines last season as he was not registered by Sundowns, but now Tuks have come to his rescue.

The Zimbabwean international becomes the fifth player to sign for AmaTuks as they prepare for their maiden Premier Soccer Legue season.

Gabonese international defender Charly Moussonou, David Radebe, Vincent Kobola and Warren Bishop have already sealed deals with the Pretoria club.

A former Caps United midfielder, Mtizwa has endured a rough time at Sundowns where compatriots Nyasha Mushekwi and Method Mwanjali have enjoyed game time while another Zimbabwean Esrom Nyandoro has been struggling for a first team jersey.

Mtizwa is set to team up with another Zimbabwean, Dynamos goalkeeper Washington Arubi, whose last match for the Harare giants is the Caf Confederation assignment against Angolan side InterClube on Sunday in Angola.
