Zimbabwean striker Knowledge Musona began new life at his new club FC Augsburg on a positive note on Tuesday, lasting 80 minutes during a pre-season friendly against Scottish football champions Celtic.

The former Kaizer Chiefs striker, who is on loan from TSG Hoffenheim, was however not on the scoresheet as the match ended in a goalless draw. The Aces Youth Academy product is hoping for a fresh start in the Austrian Bundesliga after enduring a fruitless maiden season in Germany in which he failed to command a regular place in the TSG Hoffenheim team.

According to the club’s website, Musona, who was playing on the right flank, made a good impression after creating a couple of chances which threatened to break the deadlock.

With a bit of luck Musona could have opened his account, but Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster saved his shot in the 48th minute.

Last season Musona scored just one once – the winner against FC Cologne in a German Cup second round encounter in October. He made a paltry 16 appearances, managing to make the starting line-up on only two occasions.
