Dynamos are likely to travel to Angola for their Caf Confederation Cup second leg football qualifier against Interclube without their first choice goalkeeper Washington Arubi with reports suggesting he is leaving for South Africa tomorrow.

A source close to the player yesterday said the Warriors goalkeeper is expected to fly out tomorrow morning to sign a contract with Absa Premiership side University of Pretoria.

The Tuks, as the new boys are widely known in South African football circles, last week offered Arubi a deal without a trial.

“He is leaving on Wednesday (tomorrow) to sort out his contract with University of Pretoria. I don’t know how long the process will take, but he is unlikely to travel to Angola,” said the source.

Arubi was in goals for Dynamos on Sunday as they destroyed Blue Rangers 6-0 at Rufaro Stadium, but was substituted for George Chigova just after the hour mark, an indication that coach Kalisto Pasuwa is already preparing for life without the former Lancashire Steel number one.

Dynamos, however, got some reprieve with revelations that Sunday’s hat-trick hero Takesure Chinyama and Denver Mukamba would be available for the Sunday match.

Dynamos secretary-general Raymond Kazembe yesterday confirmed the duo were on the travelling list. He also said Arubi was on the list as there had “never been any negotiations” between his club and Pretoria University.

“They (Chinyama, Mukamba and Arubi) are on the travelling list,” said Kazembe yesterday. “Unless there is something going on behind my back, as far as I’m concerned those three are part of the team that will travel to Angola. For your own information, no one except Mukamba has approached us to go for trials so all our players should be available,” he added.
