After a false start to the season due to logistical problems, the national women’s football super league campaign will finally kickoff this weekend with full fixtures tomorrow.

The Super League — going into its second year after its inauguration last year — was initially billed to start at the end of May, but was temporarily halted to allow the league sponsor Marange Resources to brand kits of all the participating teams.

League administrator Theresa Maguraushe yesterday released fixtures for the opening rounds of matches, with all five games set for tomorrow afternoon.

Defending champions Black Rhinos, home to a host of Mighty Warriors stars such as Rufaro Machingura and Rutendo Makore, will begin their title defence with a match against Gweru-based Chipembere Queens at Ascot Stadium.

Newcomers Conduit Soccer Academy will host Masvingo Queens at Madhodha Stadium in Guruve. Other clubs to compete in the league include Cyclone Stars, Flame Lily Queens, Mufakose Queens, Inline Academy, New Orleans Queens and Faith Drive.

Marange Resources has pledged to cater for direct costs involved in the running of the league. Fixtures tomorrow: Kick-off 12pm unless stated. Conduit Soccer Academy v Masvingo Queens (Madhodha Stadium), Inline Soccer Academy v Flame Lily Queens (BG Sports Club), Faith Drive Queens v Mufakose Queens, (11am) (Sakubva Stadium), Cyclone Stars v New Orleans Queens, (10am) (Rufaro Stadium), Chipembere Queens v Black Rhinos Queens (Ascot Stadium).
