Former Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor Leonard Tsumba has been appointed Dairibord Holdings Limited (DHL) chairman with effect from June 28.

He took over from Timothy Chiganze who retired from the board after serving the company for 14 years, seven of which as chairperson.

“In line with the process of succession underpinned in the Dairibord Holdings Limited corporate governance manual, Timothy Chiganze retired from the board on June 28 2012 having served his full term of office,” the company said in a statement.

“Tsumba is a renowned banker and respected businessman. He served as governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe from 1993 to 2003. “Tsumba has extensive experience in public and private financial services sector, both internationally and in Zimbabwe.”

He is currently the chairman of CABS and a board member of several listed and non-listed companies.

Tsumba is a fellow of the Institute of Directors United Kingdom and holds a PhD in economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, United States.
