KHARTOUM — Al Merreikh of Sudan beat Black Leopards 3-2 in the two sides’ Caf Confederation Cup last 16, first leg game played in Khartoum on Saturday night.

Black Leopards were 1-0 down going into the break in the game after Nasreldin Al Sheighel put Al Merreikh in the lead in the 41st minute.

Ahmed al Basha scored a brace for Al Merreikh in the 51st and 57th minutes.

Meanwhile, Black Leopards left it until late when MongeziBobe was on target in the 82nd minute before David Zulu scored the South Africans’ second goal five minutes later.

Black Leopards must win by 1-0 in the return leg on July 14 to guarantee their place in the group stage of the Confederation Cup that kicks off during the weekend of August 3-5.
