High Court Registrar Charles Nyatanga has died. Born on June 20, 1954, Nyatanga died on his 58th birthday yesterday at West End Hospital in Harare due to diabetes complications.

He headed both the Office of the Master of High Court and the Registrar of the High Court. Nyatanga worked for Guardian Trust Company from 1976 to 1978, before joining Sagit Trust Bulawayo Limited from 1978 to 1981.

He joined government in April 1981 under the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs as a trustee and taxing assistant within the Office of the Master of the High Court.

He rose through the ranks and was appointed Assistant Master of the High Court in August 1987.

Following his promotion to the post of Deputy Registrar, in March 1993, he transferred to the Office of the Registrar of the High Court.

In 1998 he was promoted to be Master of the High Court and assumed the title Master/Registrar/Sheriff of Zimbabwe in 2003, positions he held until his death.

Mourners are gathered at Number 12 Maldon Road, Greencroft, and burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
