A 28-year-old Bulawayo man recently landed himself in trouble after he brutally attacked his neighbour with a log following a brawl over a musical compact disc.

Mthandazo Malumisa of Cement Side Compound was not asked to plead to attempted murder charges when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Shepherd Mjanja last week.

The court heard that on May 27 this year, at around 6pm, the complainant Knowledge Chivengwa (28) went to ask for his music disc from one Brighton Senzere, who is a relative to Malumisa.

Senzere reportedly said he had lent the disc to Malumisa.

When Chivengwa asked Malumisa about the disc, he allegedly became angry and assaulted him with a log several times on the head and on his back. Chivengwa sustained a swollen face, head and back injuries due to the attack.

The matter was reported to police, leading to Malumisa’s arrest.

The court remanded him in custody to June 13 for trial. Melvin Nzombe prosecuted.
