Zimbabwe’s Under-20 rugby team leaves the country tomorrow for France en route to the USA for IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy which will take place in Salt Lake City, Utah, from June 18-30.

In France, the Young Sables will play practice matches against a French Top 14 outfit, Castres Olympique, and its academy side from June 6-9 before connecting to the United States.

The team was last night expected to be addressed during a fundraising dinner in the capital by Australian legend David Campese, who has been assisting the team with their preparations since the start of this week.

Zimbabwe, who were drawn alongside Georgia, Japan and Canada, are aiming for a better performance after losing all their matches on their way to finishing as the lowest-ranked team at last year’s tournament in Georgia.

The team will be boosted by the return of seven players who featured at last year’s tournament in front rowers Ian Muza and Dalroy Sibanda, scrum half Dylan Coetzee, lock Graham Logan, fullback Victor Mushoriwa, flyhalf Sean Linfield and winger Justin Coles
