Dynamos could lose one of their most valuable players, Washington Arubi, during the July transfer window, with reports linking the goalkeeper to South African premier league team Black Leopards.

South African soccer magazine KickOff yesterday reported that negotiations for a possible deal were underway.

“Arubi’s deal will be wrapped up as soon as the end of June,” reported the magazine.

The magazine said Leopards, who conceded the most number of goals in the league last season, had tasked their head coach Sunday Chidzambwa, a former Dynamos player and coach, to use his influence at the Harare giants to capture Arubi. However, Arubi and Dynamos secretary-general Raymond Kazembe yesterday refuted the media reports.

“That’s news to me. No one has approached me on that,” said Arubi.

Kazembe said: “No enquiries have been made for our player as yet, unless if it’s happening behind my back. You never know in football.” Arubi was last year linked to another South African club Platinum Stars while other reports linked him to Poland.

Meanwhile, the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) match between Caps United and Hardbody which had been set for Ascot Stadium on Saturday has been postponed to a later date. This follows after Caps United provided four of their players to the Warriors squad who are preparing for a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Guinea on Sunday at the National Sports Stadium.

Warriors coach Rahman Gumbo had initially called into camp Nyasha Mukumbi and Tapiwa Khumbuyani before adding defender David Maketo Sengu and in-form midfielder Rahman Kutsanzira yesterday.

Caps United chief executive officer Maxwell Mironga yesterday said they would not play the match.

“We will not play the match and we have communicated that to the PSL. The PSL chief executive officer (Kenny Ndebele) will give you the official position, but the match is off,” said Mironga. Ndebele said: “I’m still waiting for confirmation from Zifa on the number of players Caps have provided to the national team. If the number exceeds three, then the match is off.”

Saturday fixtures: Highlanders v Chicken Inn (Barbourfields Stadium), Buffaloes v Gunners (Sakubva Stadium), Monomotapa v Blue Rangers (Rufaro Stadium), Black Mambas v Motor Action (Morris Depot)
