DStv Rangers consolidated their lead at the top of the Northern Region Division One Soccer League log standings after beating second-placed Black Rhinos 1-0 at One Commando Grounds on Friday last week.

Rangers striker Brian Muzondiwa scored the priceless goal. The log leaders are now on 23 points, three clear of Black Rhinos. Power Masters moved to third position on the log with 19 points after their 1-0 win over Droment Chirova’s Scotia at Dzivarasekwa on Saturday. Twalumba also maintained pressure on the leading pack with a 2-0 win over Blue Jets at Pfupajena Stadium in Chegutu.

The Twalumba Holdings-sponsored team, who narrowly lost the Premier League ticket last season, are fourth on the log with 18 points. The match between ZPC Kariba and Eiffel Flats that had been set for Chaminuka Stadium on Saturday, failed to take off after the later failed to pitch up at the match venue.

The league’s executive said they were still waiting for matchday referee’s reports before they could give judgment on the match.
