South African house music disc jockey and music producer DJ Cleo is expected in the country this afternoon for a show at Sports Diner International tonight.

DJ Cleo is scheduled to touch down at the Harare International Airport at 12.30pm and will be met by local disc jockeys who will perform at the event and show organisers.

It will be his first time to perform at the joint and show organisers are optimistic he will stage a good show.

“He will be supported by a number of local DJs and the event will run until Friday (tomorrow) morning. We are expecting a mixed bag of music selection because we have invited DJs from diverse backgrounds,” said one of the organisers.

“We know DJ Cleo’s capacity and we will not hesitate to say the event will indeed be memorable. It will be an exciting night because the line-up of supporting local DJs is also strong.”

Born Cleopas Manyepawo, DJ Cleo has been the most upfront, significant and influential dance music producer in South Africa and has proved his mettle through house, kwaito and hip-hop productions for such prodigies as Brickz, Pitch Black Afro, Mzekezeke, Brown Dash, Mandoza, Kabelo and Skwatta Kamp, among others.

DJ Cleo’s debut recording Will of Steel made great waves and introduced him as a young man with great potential.

After the success of his debut release, he created his Will of Steel Productions that has produced a number of talented artists in various genres. Over the years, he has exhibited his talent through a number of other hits and toured several countries for memorable shows.

He has exhibited his skill in the United States and Europe where he has worked with big names in the industry and lived up to expectations.

His last show in Zimbabwe was held in Bulawayo where he left fans clamouring for more. His return to Harare should be welcome for most of his fans in the capital that had not seen him for a long time.
