Shabanie Mine . . . . . . 0 Dynamos . . . . . . . . . . . 0 Champions Dynamos salvaged a point to claim second position on the Castle Lager Premiership log table after a goalless lukewarm league match against Shabanie Mine at Maglas Stadium yesterday.

The game was characterised by clustered play from both sides who failed to open up with no calculated build-ups coming from either side.

Dynamos gaffer Kalisto Pasuwa said he was happy with the point away from home. He blamed the indifferent performance of his charges on fatigue.

“Fatigue is beginning to affect the boys. They have played too many games in a short space of time. But I am happy with the point away from home although we would have wanted to collect maximum points. We have played six games in a space of two weeks,” Pasuwa said.

His counterpart Luke Masomere was happy with the draw, stating his boys were playing against a big club.

He said: “It was really a good game. We had the upper hand for most of the game although Dynamos gave us a hard time here and there.

“I am happy with the result because we were playing a big club with a very rich history in football. When you come up with a draw against a big team, you know you are coming up and have every reason to smile.”

Dynamos could have opened the scoring as early as the seventh minute through midfielder Martin Vengesai.

Vengesai exchanged passes with Denver Mukamba on the right flank before the former unleashed a thunderbolt, but was denied by Shabanie shot-stopper Victor Twaliki, who punched the ball back into play.

Two minutes later, Shabanie Mine striker Tarisai Rukanda attempted a cheeky long-range snap shot on DeMbare goalkeeper Washington Arubi just after crossing the centre-line, but his effort sliced above the cross-bar.

An out-of-form Shabanie Mine striker Francis Kanda fired past Arubi in the 28th minute in a goalmouth melee, but first assistant referee Thomas Kusosa had his flag up for offside.

Seven minutes into the second half, Kanda’s header was cleared off the line as Shabanie Mine mounted an attack on Dynamos in a move that involved Johannes Chisunga and Rukanda from the right flank.

In the 72nd minute, Dynamos substitute Murape Murape’s curler found Twaliki alert, a second attempt at goal by Dynamos.

Six minutes before the final whistle another Dynamos substitute, Zambian Derrick Kabwe, missed with a header from an Ocean Mushure cross from the left flank.
