Hwange magistrate Collet Ncube is today expected to rule on whether National Healing, Reconciliation and Integration co-minister Moses Mzila-Ndlovu should be discharged for his alleged offensive Gukurahundi remarks.

This follows Mzila- Ndlovu’s application for discharge through his lawyer, Matshobana Ncube, at the close of the State case last week.

Yesterday, the magistrate said he was still making final touches to his ruling to be delivered this morning.

Last week when the trial was adjourned, the State all but threw in the towel after it failed to respond to an application for discharge by the minister at the close of its case saying it was “handicapped because of the facts and the circumstances” of the case before the courts.

Mzila-Ndlovu has pleaded not guilty to making false statements that are prejudicial to the State and addressing an unsanctioned meeting.
