A total of 40 models will take to the ramp next Saturday at Jock and Saddle for a pageant dubbed Bulawayo’s Top Model.

Themba Masuku — spokesperson for the Ballers’ League, event organisers — said the show will comprise 30 female models and 10 males.

“Some of the models are from Strides Modelling Agency. We will have Super Face and Super Legs categories,” he said.

The winner in the male category will become Mr Bulawayo while the female winner will be Miss Top Model Bulawayo.

Prizes worth more than$1 500 would be won, including hampers.

He said Ballers’ League intended to make Bulawayo’s Top Model an annual event that would be held during the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair period.

He said a new record label called Ancestor Records will also be launched during the show. “Those who will attend will have an opportunity to sample sounds from Ancestor Records which will produce music for a number of young musicians in the city.

“We envisage the show will end at midnight, culminating in the traditional ‘after party’ which will run until daybreak.”
