Twenty-two athletes from around the country will this morning take to the sprint for the first prize of $500 in the Coca-Cola ZITF Four-Minute Mile Challenge at the main arena. Bulawayo Athletics Board secretary Dailes Bingadadi yesterday said all was set for this year’s final competition.

“Participating athletes have started trickling in and we are looking forward to an exciting race. We had to include five athletes who got four minutes, 32 seconds and four minutes, 33 seconds as well so as to increase the number of participants. It was also meant to encourage them to get the required time next year,” she said. The runner-up will pocket $400, third place $350, the fourth-placed athlete will receive $300 with position five and six getting $250 and $175 respectively.
