Khama disappointed

CAPE TOWN — Zimbabwe football international Khama Billiat has admitted he is disappointed in having seen red against SuperSport United after having been brought onto the field as a substitute.

The 21-year-old replaced Lebogang Manyama within the first 18 minutes of the game at the
Peter Mokaba Stadium, where he came on and scored a goal to put his team in front, before being dismissed for malicious intent on Morgan Gould.

“I am disappointed that I let the guys down. I am not happy and I have to work on my attitude during the game. I don’t know what I was thinking, I shouldn’t have done that. It is things that I should not do ever again.”

The youngster’s cameo only lasted 26 minutes on the field, but was in agreement with the referee that it was definitely red and said he had learnt his lesson.

“Yes, I would agree it was a red card. I kicked him and I deserved to go out. I have learnt from it. Sometimes you just have to let things go.”

Billiat had just returned from serving a one-match suspension against Bidvest Wits and will now miss out on two games against

Orlando Pirates tonight and Bloemfontein Celtic.
“It is really bad. I can’t take it (that I will be missing) but I have to be strong and try to pay my debt in the last few games left.”

Ajax coach Maarten Stekelenburg has reiterated that his team will be “desperate” for points when they come up against Orlando Pirates tonight.
The Urban Warriors have seen themselves fall down to eighth on the log-standings and are eight points adrift of their revisited target of fourth place, with Stekelenburg underlining the club’s need of a win against the Buccaneers.

“We desperately need a win against Pirates.
“They are also looking for a win because they want to stay in the race for the league,” the Dutchman stated in the club’s official Press conference. “So there will be two teams who want to win the game.
“It is our home game and we want to end up in the top four, so we want to move up the log. Pirates want to win the league, so I think it will be an exciting game with two attacking teams.”
