Two of last season’s promoted sides square off at Gwanzura Stadium as Bigboy Mawiwi’s steady Harare City look to add more misery on struggling Quelaton.

The two sides are coming into the match on the back of contrasting records, with Harare City, Northern Region winners, looking stable while their Southern Region counterparts are crumbling by each passing week.

Harare City has not lost a match in their first four matches so far.

What makes their record remarkable is that they have played those matches against former league champions.

The new comers drew against Motor Action and Monomotapa before beating Gunners in their third game of the season.

The City Fathers are currently occupying seventh position on the log standings with six points, just four below league leaders Chicken Inn.

In contrast, Quelaton has lost all their first four matches against Hwange, Shabanie Mine, Chicken Inn and Motor Action to anchor the log table.

They have conceded 12 goals in the process. That poor run has cost coach Thulani Sibanda his job, who was shown the exit door on Tuesday.

The club yesterday said assistant coach Farai Sibanda has been given the reins until a suitable candidate found.

Meanwhile, high-flying Chicken Inn will be put under the severest of tests when they host last season’s league runners-up FC Platinum at Luveve stadium on Saturday.

The GameCox have come off the blocks flying, drawing their first match before collecting maximum points in their next three matches. They were leading Caps United 2-0 when their match was abandoned in optional time.

They then floored Quelaton and Blue Rangers on a 2-0 and 3-0 scoreline respectively to set the title pace.

Without taking anything away from Chicken Inn though, they would be the first to admit that the teams that they have beaten so far are having problems of their own, thus their previous successes can be very misleading.

In FC Platinum, they will be presented with their first real test. Platinum and Chicken Inn met twice in their maiden season last year, and both matches ended in 1-all draws.

Another tightly fought encounter is expected in this match.
