In-form FC Platinum reject Nelson Mazivisa is targeting the scalp of his former paymasters when Shabanie Mine cross swords with the platinum miners in the third edition of the Zvishavane derby at Mandava Stadium on Saturday.

With just three games into the Premier Soccer League season and three goals to his name, Mazivisa is enjoying a rich vein of form and jointly perched on the top goalscorers’ chart with Dynamos bustling striker Takesure Chinyama and Highlanders’ Milton Ncube.

After his goal-scoring tendencies helped the platinum miners gain Premiership status at the end of the 2010 season, FC Platinum withdrew their trust in the striker whom they last year loaned out to Zifa Central Soccer League side ZimAlloys, before he finished the season at relegated Kiglon.

“I am happy that I am in good form. I am enjoying my football here at Shabanie where I have found a new family. I am really feeling at home and at least I now have a good stage to showcase what I am capable of doing.

“I do not want to give myself some pressure so I will just play my normal football and try to win things with Shabanie. Personally I would be happy to finish the season as top goalscorer.

“On Saturday I want to do my level best and help Shabanie win the derby. It is a very big game and Shabanie have to win since they lost twice to Platinum last season,” he said.
